HELLO! WELCOME TO MY SPACE WHERE I’M GOING TO TALK ABOUT ALL THINGS HEALTH, WELLNESS AND ESSENTIALLY ANYTHING THAT MAKES ME HAPPY IN MY DAILY LIFE. WHETHER YOU’VE STUMBLED HERE ON ACCIDENT OR PURPOSELY HAD THE INTENT OF COMING HERE…

LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF.
MY NAME IS SARAH, AND I’M A COLLEGE STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON. SPECIFICALLY, I’M SIX MONTHS AWAY (EEEEK!!) UPON RECEIVING MY BACHELOR OF ARTS IN PUBLIC RELATIONS THROUGH THE SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AND COMMUNICATION.
I’M ALSO ON THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON CHEERLEADING TEAM FOR MY FOURTH AND FINAL YEAR, WHICH IS WHERE I DEDICATE A HUGE AMOUNT OF MY DOWNTIME, WHETHER IT’S AT PRACTICES, GAMES, WEIGHT LIFTING, OR JUST SPENDING TIME WITH MY TEAMMATES.
I’M ALSO A CANCER SURVIVOR. IN NOVEMBER OF 2018, I HIT MY ONE YEAR POST TREATMENT MARK FROM HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA. I WAS DIAGNOSED IN JUNE OF 2017, RIGHT AFTER SPRING FINALS DURING MY SOPHOMORE YEAR AT OREGON. I SPENT THE FOLLOWING SUMMER AND FALL WITHDRAWN FROM CLASSES RECEIVING CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIATION. FOUR ROUNDS OF CHEMO, TWO WEEKS STRAIGHT OF TARGETED RADIATION TO MY NECK AND CHEST, FOUR SURGERIES AND A BALD HEAD LATER, I WAS IN REMISSION AND BACK AT OREGON. ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, BEING HEALTHY IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME, AND IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN MY LIFE ALONGSIDE BEING HAPPY. IF THERE’S ANYTHING I’VE LEARNED WITHIN THE PAST COUPLE YEARS, IT’S THAT SOME THINGS CAN’T BE PREVENTED, BUT THE BELIEF THAT EVERYBODY (INCLUDING YOURSELF) IS DOING THE BEST THEY CAN WITH WHAT THEY HAVE, IS WHAT KEEPS YOU SYMPATHETIC, GRATEFUL AND MOTIVATED TO BE BETTER. AND THAT MY FRIENDS, KEEPS YOU HAPPY.
SO THIS IS A SPACE WHERE I’D LOVE TO BLEND MY PUBLIC RELATIONS SIDE, THE SIDE OF ME WHO LOVES WRITING AND CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE, AND THE SIDE OF ME THAT IS PASSIONATE ABOUT LIVING WELL. THAT MEANS YOU’LL BE SEEING EVERYTHING I’M LOVING: HEALTH TIPS AND TRICKS, RECIPES, PRODUCTS, TRAVEL GUIDES, TIPS FOR EMOTIONAL WELL BEING, AND BASICALLY WHATEVER IT IS I’M FEELING AND WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU GUYS. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, I’LL BE BEING REAL ABOUT THINGS. BECAUSE SOMETIMES SOCIAL MEDIA SHOWS A “HIGHLIGHT REEL” ABOUT OUR LIVES, AND IT’S TOO EASY FOR US TO GET CAUGHT UP IN THAT AND START TO COMPARE OURSELVES TO OTHERS.
AND COME ON, WE ALL KNOW THAT NOBODIES LIVES ARE PERFECT, BUT SOMETIMES SOCIAL MEDIA MASKS THAT.
